Hello Northwest Connecticut Recreational Soccer League Families!

We hope you are doing well and enjoying the nice weather... maybe even with a soccer ball.

As most of you know, the NCRSL will again include the towns of Barkhamsted, Colebrook, Hartland, Norfolk, New Hartford and Winsted.   Together make up our soccer league called Northwest Connecticut Recreational Soccer League (NCTRSL).

The Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) has extended the suspension of all soccer activiites stateside and unfortunately no end date or time frame was included.  The news is disappointing, but not surprising given the current state of COVID 19 and the importance of keeping our players, coaches, referees and spectators safe.

Normally at this time we begin registration for the 2020 Fall Soccer Season!   We are going to open registration in hopes that we will be able to safely engage in our 2020 Fall Soccer Season.  While we are going forward with our normal preparations and registration process in hopes that it will be safe in the Fall for soccer, we are aware that our Soccer season may be impacted in part or whole.

As a result, we are going to modify our registration process as follows:

1.  We are going to open on-line registration in June so that parents can go into our website and register their children for the appropriate level of soccer for the Fall season.

2.  However, when you reach the end of the on-line registration process and the website askes for payment method, we are going to ask that everyone select "Pay by Check."  This will allow the registration to go through at this time without any payment.

3.  We are asking that no one pay at the time of registration with either a credit card or send in a check.  Rather, we ask that everyone in all towns wait until you receive word from the league in in mid to late August.  The Soccer committee, comprised of leaders from all of our towns, will meet in August and evaluate the situation at that time with the Pandemic.  We will examine the government guidelines at the time, the status of school in our communities and school athletics at that time, as well as the guidelines form the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association.  We will contact everyone who is registered at that time.  If we are unable to proceed with a safe soccer season, we cancel the season and no one wil have paid any registration money.  Hopefully we will be able to go forward with the season and we will ask everyone, at that time, to either log back into the website and pay the registration fees with a credit card or to mail in their check.

4.  With this plan in mind, we ask that everyone go and register their children NOW... in June.  There is no finiancial risk as we are not collecting payment.   This will allow the towns to get organized and prepare orders for uniforms in a timely manner so that when we reach a decision in August, we will be able to move forward if it is safe to play.

So we will open registration today, June 10, 2020.  Please register as soon as possible and be sure to have your children in the sytem no later than July.   We will keep registration open through August for any new kids that move into our towns, but please do not wait to register so that we can confirm our numbers, set up teams, create a schedule and order uniforms in a timely manner.
